About ME!!!

My name is Leah Butler-Smith and I am an Internet Marketer.  Usually the only people who actually know what an internet marketer is, are internet marketers!  We are a happy breed and we do breed btw because what we have is catching!

We have the luxury of doing what we love and loving what we do!

Sure many in IM get started because they think its a quick way to earn a fast buck, but they quickly realise that all the hype around internet marketing is just that, hype!

But they also realise that there are many very genuine marketers who actually like helping others to get started or to develop strategies and who lost the ability to work 9-5 long ago.

You can look forward to a life where you are the boss and the only person telling you what to do is your family members or your dog.  No-one else is going to tick you off for arriving five minutes late or for being back from lunch ten minutes late or even dictating what time you are allowed to go for lunch.

Back to me…

I have been my own boss since the late 90′s and I honestly don’t think I could ever work for someone else again.  Previously I worked as an Accountant in the commercial accounting side.  I went onto to train as a Coach and developed into a Trainer of NLP.  NLP is Neuro Linguistic Programming and unsurprisingly this technique is everywhere in marketing!  The art of influence is indeed important when it comes to buying and selling and that’s what internet marketing is all about.

I work from my beautiful office at my own home and I am surrounded by my gorgeous dogs.  I have a Pug who is now arthritic and pines if I’m away (he can be heard snoring in most of my videos – sorry bout that but I am sure you can cope in favor of having the little fella feeling happy).  Two Shitzu’s who may or may not be actual Shitzu’s but they can be little @h!ts and have managed to plough through several pairs of slippers, hubby’s most expensive shoes, a lovely pair (I have rather too many to complain) of mine, a sofa and any teddy they can get their jaws into (the Shitzu’s parentage is doubted but we aren’t doggy snobs so we don’t care!).  I also have two cats floating about the place.  They of course are actually in charge, my Panther cat as he’s locally known (we call him Albie) is as big as the dogs and gives them what for if they get in his way.  He properly has a big Cat mentality and flirts with everyone walking past the house, demands their attention and they give it.  There he is next to one of the Shitzu’s called Gizmo – not much difference in their size as you can see.  Albie has taken to actually using the knocker on the house a couple of doors down – they were properly thrown when they moved in and although they aren’t cat lovers, they find him adorable.  Albie has even been sent Christmas gifts before!

I have three children whom I am very proud of.  Two are full grown and my daughter is a school teacher of younger children and her students naturally all adore her.  In fact everyone adores her – she take’s after me   My eldest son is also very successful and has worked on block buster movies in the back rooms of accounts, production and all that stuff.  He now works for a media company in London.  My youngest is 13 and is already the tallest in our crew!  He can literally go to bed an inch shorter than his Dad and gets up taller by 2 inches!  How does that even happen?!

My lovely supportive husband (and it really helps if you’ve got a supportive partner and family) has his own Construction business but is also a fully trained Master in NLP!  He likes to have many strings to his bow   He comes and drags me off the computers every day and ‘allows’ me access on the weekend but only if he’s otherwise engaged.  He is very proud of what I’ve learned and achieved in this business but he does have to compete with my other big love Mac!  Of course I do have a delightful PC, touch screen and all that but my Mac, well… it’s pure love.

I now spend some time building sites and test out a bunch of different monetization strategies.  I am addicted to finding way to make things work easier and quicker whilst not going too far and upsetting the big G or indeed the site visitors.

I previously worked as an accountant (and even passed some very difficult Maths oriented exams) prior to becoming a Professional Coach/Trainer in the Personal & Professional Enhancement niche.  I am a born Strategist and have utilized this skill in each career that I have followed. Some of my other skills include NLP (as above), Advanced Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy, Accounting, Business Management, Strategy Development, Influence Psychology, Training Corporate Business and Individuals to improve their Motivation, Goals, Stress Management, Leadership Skills, Managing Change and much more.

Personal interests include: Microbiology, Psychoimmunerology, Quantum Physics, dog training (lol!), Travel, good food, great wine, human motivation and immense ability to overcome strife and lastly but not least – being a good mum and wife and no doubt there’s actually more…

From absolute novice to full time site builder - I’ve learned everything I know by doing and studying.  The internet is a gift and we must as marketers be part of giving not taking.  I have gained so much from the World Wide Web that I am passionate about giving something back and aim to provide quality as much as possible.

So strategies are required if we are to gain rankings for our site pages and their important keywords in a shorter time frame.  And those strategies must still provide the searcher or buyer with what they want.  If we develop an information site, we need to ensure it provides quality and where possible accurate information.  If we review products and promise to bring a balanced review, then that is what we must do.  There are many business models in Internet Marketing and I’ve tested out a few.
